Vehicle Security Tips

Many matters to do with security are common sense and you will have heard many times, however we see no harm in reminding you of the following:

1. When leaving your vehicle place all valuables out of sight and in a secure location. If this is not possible we respectfully suggest you take them with you.

2. When traveling keep all doors and if applicable the boot or hatch locked. Thieves will try to open doors, boot or hatch when vehicle are stopped at traffic light etc. Keeping doors locked will also reduce the risk of you being Car Jacked.

3. Close all windows and sun roofs when leaving the vehicle. If an animal is to be left in the vehicle special precautions are necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals.

4. When leaving your vehicle remove and store safely all Sat Nav and / or mobile phone equipment and clean sucker marks from windscreen etc. If thieves see a sucker mark then may break into your vehicle to check if your Sat Nav is in the glove box, causing damage even if not stealing anything.

5. Never leave your vehicle with the engine running or with the key in the ignition. Be aware of the scam where a poster is placed on your rear window causing you to get out of your vehicle to remove the poster. The person working the scam will try to get into your vehicle and drive away whilst you are concentrating on the poster.
